Talkabook's authors respond to the theft

I am SO sorry.

I can't even begin to imagine what you and your family are going through.

What a horrible betrayal. What a horrific injustice.

IT SUCKS.

I have the utmost respect and admiration for you. I know how much of yourself  - - intellectually, emotionally, financially, enthusiastically -- you put into Talkabook.

And that's how I know you let none of us down. You gave your best. You gave your all. If you could have done even more, you would have. I know it.

Thank you for your insight and desire and passion to connect children and their parents with us creators. Talkabout was, and continues to be, a brilliant idea. I hope hope hope there will be some
legal resolution for you.

All my best

This is very difficult to read because of all that you put into sharing your vision of something fun and educational for children, only to have it ripped out of your hands. I was just thinking about Talkabook the other day, wondering how things were going for other authors. Thanks for all you did. Maybe one day it can be all that it envisioned it to be.

Shoot, Chip, I’m so sorry to hear that. You must be devastated. And to get that kind of behavior from a former team member?

It’s inexcusable.

I hope you’re able to find a satisfactory resolution to this situation.

Dear Chip,

I'm so sorry to hear about your ordeal. I know this may not count for much but please know that you didn't let any of us down. Your integrity will carry you through to carry on and create new opportunities for yourself and your family, whereas the person who did this will have to live with their actions. I am a big believer in "you reap what you sow." Life has its way of making the impossible path possible when one's heart is in the right place. Even though it seems grim right now, please don't lose heart.

I appreciate the opportunity and vision you had and the chance to be a part of your venture. I wish you all the best as you try to recover and move past this crisis.

So very sorry this has happened...to your vision and to you and your family. There are crummy people everywhere - and sadly, we don't always know until it's too late.

I'm wishing you and your family peace, love, good health, and a positive solution to all of this.

I'm so sorry to hear this, Chip. I know it was a work of passion and you were deeply committed to its success. Praying good conquers evil in this situation.

Chip, I am so sorry. I thought you had a great idea. This is hard to understand how people can be so cruel. I wish you the best going forward.

I am much more sad for you than for me. You seem like a quality person with an amazing idea.

If I can help with anything, I’d be happy to. Again, my sincerest sympathy.

This is sad to hear. I'm sorry as you put so much into it and the site looks so professional. Personally

I am so sorry to hear about this terrible thing that happened to you.  I know how much you genuinely care about the mission of connecting authors and children.  I hope that you are able to resolve this in some sort of positive way for you and your family.

Thank you for letting us know, and all the best,

Oh Chip!

I’m so sorry to hear this. I remember how excited you were about Talkabook, and it seemed like a lovely idea. Don’t lose hope about the investigation—they always move like snails. Keep on them, and hopefully, you’ll see some action.

It’s hard to pick up and start again after such a trauma, but I hope you’ll persevere. You have lots of people who believe in you.

Oh my gosh, that is TERRIBLE, Chip!!! I am so so sorry!!!  Unreal!  You worked so hard!

Wow! Thanks for the update. So sorry to hear all that…. I was wondering what had become of this.

That sounds like a terrible situation. I know you had made significant personal investments in this process, and lots of heart.

I don’t know what I could do to help, but please let me know if there is anything I can do….

I am so sorry!  This is not okay. Please be well. Your idea is solid and what you are attempting to do to bring readers and authors together is a great platform. I am rooting for some kind of recovery and success.

Much respect!

Chip, I'm so sorry to hear this and for the devastation and challenges I'm sure it's bringing to you and your family. I appreciate all you've done with Talkabook and wish you there very best. And of course if it starts up again, I'd love to be a part of it still. I hope you and your family are able to get the help you need with everything going on.

Take care

I'm wishing you the best. I don't know if it's any consolation, but apparently, this sort of thing is not that uncommon--a similar thing happened to a friend years ago, when he launched a dating website. A former partner in his business embezzled all the investments and the site had to be shut down shortly after it launched.

I feel confident that all you've gained and learned from this business is not going away, and that you'll rise again with either Talkabook or a better, newer product. Every successful CEO in history has been through hardship. The infrastructure is there, the knowledge is there--you may be surprised by how buoyant you are.

Oh my gosh!!  This is terrible. I AM so sorry that there are people out there that can do this to you after all your hard work. I am crossing fingers and toes that you can wrest your project away from this terrible person and resume pursuing your dream. Nikola Tesla was a visionary and encountered so many obstacles pursuing his dream.  But he persevered,

I hope you do too.

I am truly sorry to hear about this terrible terrible experience.  I hope that justice prevails and that you yourself in a much better place soon.  Thank you for inviting me to be part of your dream of bringing authors/illustrators like me to young people.

I know you’re going to get a lot of emails, so, I’m not expecting am in immediate response.  I’m not worried about imagery or content as such, Though looking forward to it, I hadn’t ever gotten around to creating an extensive profile. Mostly, the concern would be for any personal/financial information (and I don’t even recall what exactly was needed from us, or, what information Talkabook has).  Thank you for hiring someone to secure content.  It truly is appreciated.

I hope for better days soon for you and your family.  I’m not sure how I can help, but, please let me know.

I’m so sorry. Please let me know if there’s anything I can do. Seriously. I’d be happy to resubmit  all my stuff when you rebuild.

Take care. Please reach out if you need something or want to vent.

I hope all goes better for you....

So sorry to hear that Chip. Was hoping for a different outcome. I believe that things have a way of working out in the long run so I look forward to working with you sometime in the future. Take good care of yourself during this difficult time.

I’m so very sorry to hear this.

Sending blessings to you and your family and hoping life is better for you soon.

Thank you for letting us know. I am so terribly sorry for the devastation this has caused you!

This is egregious behavior on the part of the person concerned, and I really hope that you will ultimately have recourse and that the person concerned will face consequences for their conduct.
