Hey, hey, HAY!
For kids who are fascinated by tractors, for future farmers, and for city kids who don't know where hay comes from -- this is for you! We'll start with a rollicking interactive read-aloud of "Hey, Hey, Hay! (A Tale of Bales and the Machines That Make Them") with time to talk about how we make hay.
I wrote this picture book because, to me, the haymaking process is magical -- storing summer in a bale! I love sharing it with kids and I have found that they are often enchanted with the tractors and the various attachments: mower, tedder, baler -- hay! We can chat about haying, life on a farm, the history of switchel, and more. This book is in rhyme, so if you'd like to talk about rhyme, we can do that. And finally, if you're interested in how a picture book is created, I can tell you about that, too. There's something for everyone.
