I Can’t Draw! Can You?
This session is for budding artists of any age. Adam will go through his book The Smiley-Face Book, which is a very simple story intended for very young listeners (2 – 4 years old). Although it's a simple book, older children can watch as Adam describes the process for drawing simple faces, which is about all that he can draw since he is a writer, not an illustrator. What is it that turns simple lines into recognizable faces? How do you change the expression of those faces? How do you turn a few lines from a smiley-face into a monster face? Adam's hope is that all of the participants will end up as much better illustrators than he is.
Participants should be ready with paper and drawing tools ready if they want to practice along with Adam, or they can just watch and critique his horrible drawing style.
