Let's talk about sea creatures and how we can protect them! Storytelling and Conservation Workshop
While forms are precise in a geometry book, In Nature, we must take a second good look. So step outside and open your eyes - The shapes you see could be quite a surprise. So let’s look together, just you and me. I wonder which shapes we’ll be able to see. Come on a magical journey and discover the shapes and creatures of the ocean in rhymes and riddles. Would you like to know more about sea creatures and how YOU can help to protect them?
In my workshop, I will read Diamonds, Hearts & Sea Stars! A picture book about shapes found in the ocean and I will focus on the importance of how each of us can make a difference.
Diamonds, Hearts & Sea Stars! is a collection of 9 poems. Each poem is connected to a shape and a sea creature. The idea is that children go out into nature and start discovering! At the same time, the book teaches important facts about each creature as well as raising awareness of the threats they are facing.
My workshop is suited for younger and older children.
- A warm welcome to the kids
- Introducing myself
- Very kid-friendly introduction to marine conservation
- Finding solutions together how we can protect marine life
- How can each of us make a difference
- Artivism (optional drawing challenge): Create your first art that gives an important message to protect the ocean.
