Let's Talk Ocean Pollution with LOBSTAH GAHDEN!
Listen to author Alli Brydon read her picture book LOBSTAH GAHDEN, after which she will discuss the environmental themes of the book and share some ways young readers can become Ocean Activists. If there is time, Alli will guide the audience in a fun upcycling craft project and answer any questions about the book and being an author.
30 Minute Program
Alli's 30-minute program is perfect for kids aged 3 - 7, teachers, and parents who are interested in hearing more about how we can all chip in to save our oceans from pollution. During the session, Alli will read LOBSTAH GAHDEN and discuss the themes of environmental activism in the book. Offering tips and tricks for how to be an Ocean Activist like Walter and Milton, Alli will inspire young viewers to help save our planet, especially our oceans. If there is time, there will be a quick upcycling project (required materials listed below) and a Q&A session. Ties in well with lessons surrounding Earth Day, environmentalism, recycling, social and climate justice, and being a good citizen.
For the upcycling project, please bring:
- an empty, clean yogurt cup or other small plastic container (you could also cut the bottom off a soda bottle)
- a pair of scissors
- permanent markers in different colors
