A fun-interactive, informative discussion about writing. My writing is based on taking the reality of my life and embellishing and twisting the facts. The talk will focus on student's life events, no matter how seemingly trivial, and turning them into enjoyable stories. Humor is emphasized.

This will be based on two writings:

Questions:
Life for Josh isn’t the easiest. He moved into a new school, attracted the wrath of Brenda, an opinionated and quite capable classmate who believes Josh is making up wild stories and passing them off as true, and has conversations with the corn. Josh is taken into the confidence of the corn leading him to a meeting with a long-dead Alice. Josh is quickly plunged into danger, intrigue, and adventure as his relationship with his classmates deepens into friendship and respect.

Denny & I Stories - Riding Trees and The Great Sled Race.
In conversational, professional storyteller's cadence Anderson communicates a wealth of vivid, down home imagery: "genuine imitation Davy Crockett hats," 25 cent movies, Schwinn bicycles, October moons, crawdad fishing next to a graveyard, using string, a safety pin and bacon; a favorite bike path through a cornfield that was "like a green hallway" in the summer and a magical place of "corn ghosts" when the fog rolled in. --Lynne Heffley ©2000 Parents' Choice
