Story Secrets: How Authors Write Books
Discover the three-step process that many professional authors use to write amazing stories! Bring paper and pen/pencil, and come ready to write. By the end of the program, you'll have developed character, setting, and plot ideas, along with starting your own incredible story.
45 Minute Program
Todd has taught young writers from 4th grade through college how to write incredible stories with memorable characters and gripping plots. This basic fiction crash course is based on work he's done at over 100 elementary, middle, and high schools across the country.
All you need to participate in this program is paper, pen/pencil, and a desire to explore imaginary lives.
Participants will gain several pro tips on writing that they can apply to their work long after the program.
The focus of this interactive program will include:
—How to develop specific, memorable characters.
—The three things it's most important to know about your characters.
—What makes plot interesting, and how to create incredible plots.
—Tips for writing great settings.
—The special way writers go about writing that makes stories fun.
—How to keep going to complete your story or even a book.
The program is best suited for ages 9 and up. Any number of participants can participate, but the smaller the group size, the more individual attention and feedback participants will get. (50-60 minutes).

Todd Mitchell is an award-winning author and teacher.
