45 Minute Program
Did you know that Beverly Cleary was one of the slowest readers in her early school years or that Ramona was based on many of Cleary’s own childhood experiences? Listeners will also learn why Ramona was named Ramona. Tracy talks about her experiences with her own Ralph the Mouse and shows listeners the miniature motorcycle that Cleary gave her on a visit and how it appeared on book covers. And, of course, finishes up the visit by drawing Ramona and Ralph and with simple instructions to draw your own.
