Have you ever felt like you were watching a movie while reading a book? Great authors have the ability to connect and transport us to the setting and immerse us in the story. Through word choices, specifically adjectives, authors take what they see and allow us into their minds. Most beginning writers have a picture in their heads but communicating with words is often difficult. Through this interactive workshop, we will practice using juicy adjectives to convey our thoughts and images. Starting with a guessing game, students will try to guess the mystery object. They will then be able to practice with each other using objects of their choice. By focusing on the five senses, students will have a better understanding of how to create clarity and engage their audience. This hands-on workshop is great for all learners whether they are visual, auditory, or kinesthetic.
